Ebola Outbreak In Africa

The geographic themes of Interactions of human and the environment and region prove that geography is destiny.

Region is destiny because in Western Africa because in the slums, there was a shooting during the West point protest. According to the African News Service, which was published by James Butty, that there were riots going on at the time. There were four fights, and in one of them a 16-year old boy died because of a gunshot, he was with four other wounded people.

Interactions with the environment and movement also help prove that geography is destiny. According to William Foege, James Mason and David Satcher in USA Today, 1.550 people died of Ebola in West Africa and Ebola is carried through the economy as well, not just humans. This proves that geography is destiny because globalization makes it harder for the Ebola to reach to other countries/people, globalization is a part of movement, and movement is a theme of geography, so this proves that geography is destiny.

  1. While I was reading this I was shocked when you mentioned the shooting because I have never heard of it. Do you know where the shooting actually took place and were the people wounded or the shooter involved in a gang? Also what was the West Point Protest, what were they protesting? The Ebola Virus is a becoming a huge deal all around the World not just Africa. Even though the countries are not being affected physically by the disease they are not able to trade and receive resources. This is very well written and full of information; but what are your options on Ebola?
