Are people's destiny in Africa be in danger?

The geographic themes of movement and interaction prove that geography is not destiny throughout life because you can travel away from the problem, and interaction, you can react to the environment different ways than what is original.

Movement:

Movement proves that geography doesn’t affect your destiny because if you have the option to move, you can. Like living in West Africa, and first hearing about the disease, you don’t have to stay there. You can leave and travel somewhere where the disease is not going to come. In the article, “Why U.S. must lead Ebola fight”, it states that doctors are traveling to different countries to help. If you live in West Africa, why can’t you hitch a ride so you are safe from the disease? Geography is something that you can choose if destiny takes control of it.

Interaction:

Interaction proves that geography doesn’t control destiny because when humans interact with nature and they adapt to it, you can change what you do to survive. If there is a river full of fish, you don’t have to go fishing to get your food supply because maybe you don’t even like fish and you just want to live there. Maybe Some people live in the rural area because it’s cheaper even though they don’t like it. You don’t have to let where you live affect what you do in that situation. In the article, “Obama Commits 'Military Assets' for Ebola Health-Care Surge”, it talks about the isolation units and their descriptions. If Africa’s isolation units aren’t as good as America’s, why don’t we help them? If the units aren’t even good that it’s possible the infection can get out, we don’t have to just sit there and let it affect our destiny. Why can’t we actually do something about it?

  1. I agree that your geographic location doesn't affect you destiny because you can move away from that area if they have the resources. I believe that most of the people in the countries that are being affected by Ebola are very poor and don't have the money to move.

  3. I agree with most of your paragraph but most people in third world countries cannot travel because they have no money.
