The geographic themes of movement and interactions of humans with environment prove that geography is not destiny because people help other people by altering the natural environment when people are sick, and other people could just move away from those sick people.
The interaction of humans with environment theme shows that we can alter the environment to help us stop Ebola. Obama stated in the article “‘Military Assets’ for Ebola Health-Care Surge” that all we need to do is contain the infected and treat them with caution to stop the virus from spreading and then stop it overall. By changing the way the virus naturally spreads we can easily stop it. With all the money that people are donating we should surely be able to contain this virus. By altering the way the environment does stuff we can really do some damage to the ebola virus
Movement proves that geography is not destiny because people can simply move away and also people can move to the infected areas to help cure the disease. In the article “Liberia’s Investment Bank gives 10k to Ebola Task Force” it states that the Ebola virus is not airborne. That means that as long as people are not in contact with other peoples’ bodily fluids infected with the virus that they are safe from risk of infection. This being said, moving away from infected people is probably the simplest way to avoid the fate that is Ebola. Also by moving medical professionals to the infected, they can help to properly contain and treat the virus.
I agree with what you said about how they should separate the people with the virus from the people without the virus, but I disagree how they should send more medical professionals to the infected. This is because if we send more medical professionals, especially from any other country, they might get infected and bring it back to wherever they are from.
ReplyDeleteThat is true but the medical professionals that I was thinking we shoud send would need to take supreme precautions before coming in contact with infected patients. I agree that one of the worst things that could happen would be for doctors to get infected themselves but not sending help would cause the virus to spiral out of control.
