In the video by Al-Qaeda, Nasser bin Ali al-Ansi claims that the massacre was, in his words, the blessed battle of paris.
Both brothers involved with the massacre went to a training camp in Yemen. He says we of the arabian peninsula claim responsibility for this operation as a vengeance for the messenger Allah, may peace be upon him. He then moves on to congratulate the gunmen, Congradulations to these brave men who blew off the dust of disgrace and light the torch of glory in darkness of defeat and agony.
In the video Al-Qaeda threatens to target other countries saying that France was the turning point. It was revealed that the brothers were trained in Yemen by Al-Qaeda. He says that the wounds have not healed and they never will, he says that it doesn’t matter where the wounds will never heal.
According to Nasser the people of France are broken, and weak because of this “blessed battle”. Thats not the case for the people of France, they have been more united and stronger than before the attack, they were torn by the deaths of the victims but they were not broken. I think that Al-Qaeda thought of France as an unbreakable country, I think that because of this they wanted to show that they too were strong this is why they targeted France.
Nasser brings up the gathering of the 3.7 million people in the streets of paris to show their support and says,”Let us not let the disbelievers be more united in their disbelief and insulting the prophets than us in supporting our religion and Prophet,”
I think that when he says this it shows how he’s scared that the attack didn’t have the effect that he was expecting, and because he wanted to spread fear but he spread the opposite, he spread unity.
I plan to further research the global gatherings to show support
