American are using their technology more and more with every new technological advancement. Over 90% of all American adults own a phone. With 60% of all adults are using smartphones. Men also show to be 5% higher than females in the amount of adults with phones. The age group from 18-29 have 98% of them using phones. This shows that the younger generations use technology a lot more than the 65+ group which only has 74% of them using phones. This may also be because the older generations are having a harder time adapting to what the younger generations grew up with. The amount of people primarily using a mobile device to go on the internet has grown to 34%. This shows that people are going away from using laptops and desktops so they can be more mobile. Some of the most actively used applications on our phones are texting and internet. Over 81% of adults use their phones to text with others and 60% use their phones to access the internet.
