Every Women's Voice is Needed

Source:

This website is a website with a bunch of tips and tricks for girls like hairstyles, and clothing hacks. It also has a section on the affects the media has on young women. I think it is reliable because it guides women into making the right choice and the website seems professional.

Let's Make a Change

The media is portraying an image on young girls that is ruining their self esteem, and even their life.

“The medias harmful effect on the self body image and self esteem of young girls has brought about some of these three damaging effects: eating disorders, mental depression, and physical depression.”

These problems that people face are extremely dangerous, and they are all just caused by envying someone with a good body. I think that this statement is really interesting and true, but extremely terrible and sad. The effect of the media showing beautiful celebrities, is young girls destroying their lives. We definitely need to make a change to this. The young girls change their lives only a little, but a little goes a long way.

“For women between the ages of 10-39,bulimia has tripled”

This statement makes me terrified for what will happen even more far out into the future. These diseases are such a big problem and need to be stopped soon before it gets any worse. The fact that so many young girls do this to their own bodies just to look like a photoshopped model on the front cover of a magazine is beyond me. Bulimia, and other eating disorders such as anorexia are extremely serious things that no one should ever have to go through. We need to be able to accept our own bodies, be happy, and accept who we are.

“Many manufacturers are worried to promote a normal and plus size body image because they feel the media is so strong in showing the ‘ideal’ body image”

Manufacturers should be able to promote what they want in order to help many girls around the world. Even though the media is so powerful with the ideal body image, other companies should try to override the media and promote natural bodies and faces without any pressure. I believe that this problem in our world can be fixed, and I don’t think it just takes time, I think it also takes the voice of every single women in the world wanting to make a change.

Discussion question: In the future, do you think these effects that women are receiving from trying to get a beach body will get better over time, or keep growing in a negative way?
