The End of the World

  • Group's overall essential question (e.g. How are people’s beliefs shaped?):
  • What shapes beliefs?
  • My research question connected to essential question (How do movies and media’s portrayal of females after their views of themselves in society?):
  • Why do cultures develop beliefs on how the world or life will end?
  • Brief paragraph on why you’re interested in this topic:
I have always been very interested and intrigued in the very complicated ideas. I really am interested in the different myths of the end of world. I love movies like contagion. This movie is about an epidemic that spreads very quickly, but is contained with a vaccine. My favorite television shows include, The Walking Dead, Doomsday Preppers, and the Strain. These are shows about the apocalypse. That is what intrigues me and makes me return to my child like phase of rapidly asking questions. The bad part about my interests is the fact that none in the world has a precise explanation. That part of the idea gets me going. It’s necessary to be creative when discussing the end of the world. To conclude, different cultures have different references to how the apocalypse will occur.
