“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Hitler could have been stopped over and over again. Good men could have simply not listened, but they didn’t and he rose and rose to high points of power. Why would good men be so loud during a bloody war, yet be so quiet during the rise of a bloody tyrant, why would others suspend their own beliefs and follow a man with terrible intentions, how could he influence the Germans so much?
Hitler continued to expand his influence in the party and began to form a private group of thugs which he used to quash disorder at party meetings and later to break up rival party's meetings.
This is one aspect of his rise to power because Hitler took total control over the Nazi Party’s influences. These good may have been quiet but only because they were forcibly silenced by thugs known as the SA. The SA is remembered as a band of thugs who supported Hitler, but they were more than that, they were an army. This shows how weak and silent some Germans were because it was an army that was against the already standing German army and it seems that they were so scared that they wouldn't put down this rebellious uprising in 1920! 25 years before his death and the end of World War II, 25 years!
The coup was ended on the morning of November 9th, when a column of three thousand SA men headed by Hitler and General Ludendorff (one of the most senior generals of the First World War) were halted on their way to the centre of Munich by armed police. After a brief gunfight, only General Ludendorff and his aide had made it through to the central Plaza, where they were arrested. Hitler had fled the scene and was later arrested and charged with treason.
This is very important because it shows how influential Hitler was. Hitler attempted to overthrow the German government and take over the country, which is treason. But because of his status amongst the people, it was treated as a misdemeanors in the United States are treated. In fact during Hitler’s five year prison sentence, he was treated as a hotel guest, it was as if it was the German government being the type of parents who don’t reprimand their children. Due to Hitler’s immense influence and power he was almost on vacation rather than serving a sentence for high treason.
