Who Invented the Internet?

We use the internet every day but little of us know how it came to be.  Who came up with the idea of the Internet?  Who developed the internet? What day was the internet released?

All of these answers can be found in an excellent Washington Post article, a leading national newspapers.

The first Idea of the internet came from a British computer scientist known as Tim Berners-Lee after he wrote an essay titled “Information Management.”  The internet didn't just all go into existence but the first use of the internet happened in 1969 when ARPA connected four U.S. universities.  Then in 1972, email was added into play which bought up the “@” symbol.  Over all, the Internets main development was from 1969 to 1998 when Google first opened its first office.  But it is still constantly changing with new servers being put up and new websites being developed or updated.

I personally find it odd that the thing we use the most we know the least about and how it came to be.  Think about how many times you use the internet a day weather you’d be posting a picture on snap-chat or instagram, streaming music, sending an email or imessage to someone or playing a game online with friends.  We take the internet for granted.  So how long do you think you could survive without the internet?
