Will technology help everyone live past a 100?
Drew Hendricks, who wrote “How Technology is Changing the Medical and Health Care Field” is more objective in this article because Drew was only sharing the facts of our new technology system for healthcare. It is a very helpful source in finding out how technology has really saved our lives.

“In the past, public health workers primarily applied this field of study during outbreaks. Now, new technology has enabled the study of population science to revolutionize the medical field.”

It is interesting to find out how far technology has actually brought us in the medical world. We are now able to to treat an epidemic much easier than before. This is because doctors are able to look at a large-scale way to treat an epidemic instead of simply treating an individual. They are able to do this by evaluating the epidemic’s death rate and frequency on a healthcare system. This way of treating patients is more efficient and saves a much greater amount of lives.
“Evidence-based guidelines allow doctors to figure out the likely causes of a symptom and the best way to treat it. In Taiwan, the national health care system is now designed so that doctors have instant access to these statistics from their computer.”
The new technology, known as evidence-based guidelines, makes discovering an illness much easier. New disorders and diseases have developed because the healthcare has changed, so it is crucial that we continue to improve technology and make doctors’ lives easier in the process. Just by typing in the symptoms of an illness, doctors are able to figure out what it actually is along with other crucial information. This will ultimately save lives by reducing the amount of time diagnosing the problem and allowing more time to be spent curing it.
“Doctors are benefiting immensely from the drive toward electronic medical records. With one touch of a button, doctors can access all the care a patient has ever received and can figure out possible illnesses.”
This process definitely saves thousands of lives. For example, if a patient is being treated, doctors have to be able to find out what kind of medical conditions and allergies the patient has in order to not prescribe any fatal medicine. This new system is also known to be more transparent, or easier to understand than previous records. In addition, electronic medical records enable statistics of the whole population which at times is very necessary. This new process will save time and ultimately save lives.
How much has social media changed society?
