The Apocalypse Has a Variety of Views

Using information from the database of beliefnet I have put together this brief essay regarding the different views of four of the major religions. This article, Top 10 Religious Beliefs About the Apocalypse, is written by Idol Chatter.

All religions in the world are very different in many circumstances. Many of these cultures worship differently, have different diets and food, different behaviors, and different beliefs. These different beliefs include views on the end of the world. According to Idol Chatter, “The dead will be resurrected and all humanity will live in a redeemed world”. This is the view of Judaism. On the other hand, according the Idol Chatter’s article, Hinduism believes that “the world will be ended by a pralay (destruction), an all destroying flood”. On the contrary side, the article states that for Buddhism, “Buddha's teachings will disappear from the earth creating an end of time scenario”. Lastly, the article states that for Christianity, “the reign of an antichrist will rise, ending the world”. There are some of the most followed religion’s answers and beliefs of the apocalypse, yet they are all very different. They are answering the same question, but have very different answers.

As said before all of these cultures are very different. This is why it can be said that they have very different beliefs towards the end of the world. These cultures have their different views because they all have different gods. The author “encourages you to view the world to come as blank slate, a chance to reinvent yourself, a boundless period of opportunity without the inconvenience of schedules and crowds”. So to conclude, everyone has their different views and are entitled to them, but every religion is different.

Further Research: I would like to next go into further detail regarding the Judaism apocalyptic belief of the resurrection of the undead.
